WA completes clean sweep with 9 wicket Sheffield Shield final win

Last weekend Western Australia completed a clean sweep of domestic 2022/23 men's titles with a comfortable 9 wicket victory in the Sheffield Shield final against Victoria at the WACA.

A brilliant "team" bowling effort in both innings restricted Victoria to totals of 195 and 210 in the match.

A game changing 128 from Player-of-the-Match Ashton Turner in the first innings (after the home side was 4 for 53) enabled WA to reach a first innings total of 315 and assume a strong first innings lead.  It was left to Cameron Bancroft & Teague Wyllie to pick off the 93 runs required in the 2nd innings to secure the victory.

Six men's titles in the last 2 years is a phenomenal achievement and has cemented WA as the dominant force in Australian cricket.
